Process

ELAN ABA THERAPY

The first step in ABA therapy (Analytic Behavior Therapy) usually involves assessment and evaluation of the client.
This assessment is essential to determine the initial goals of therapy and to understand the client's needs.
Here are the basic steps in the assessment process and the first step in ABA therapy:

Initial assessment

Behavioral analysts (BCBAs) perform a thorough initial assessment of a client to better understand their needs, current skill levels, and areas that need to be worked on. This assessment may include interviews with parents or caregivers, behavioral assessments, skills testing, and social skills assessments.

Setting goals

Based on the results of the initial assessment, therapists set therapy goals. These goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (so-called SMART goals). Goals are set in accordance with the client's needs and abilities.

Development of an individualized therapy plan

Based on the goals set, therapists develop an individualized therapy plan that identifies specific steps and strategies that will be used to achieve those goals.

Therapy implementation

Once a treatment plan has been developed and goals have been set, therapy is implemented according to the plan. This involves working with the client on specific tasks, skills, and behaviors to achieve the therapy goals.
